The 3rd Annual Hollywood Brown Day Football Camp, held on July 13, 2024, at the Hollywood Police Athletic League (PAL), was the biggest and most impactful year yet for this free community event. Hosted by Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, the camp attracted over 500 young football players eager to learn and improve their skills under the guidance of a professional NFL athlete.
In partnership with Cox Media Group's 99 Jamz, this year's event not only provided a high-energy football camp but also expanded its community outreach. In collaboration with Farm Share, this all-day event kicked off with a food distribution was added to the event, where volunteers helped distribute free groceries to 500 local families. This initiative demonstrated the Hollywood Brown Foundation’s commitment to supporting the entire community, both on and off the field.
Participants engaged in skill-building drills, coached directly by Marquise Brown and other experienced coaches, providing the youth with invaluable tips on the game. Each attendee also received a backpack filled with school supplies, ensuring that they left with not only football knowledge but also essential tools for the upcoming school year.
Additionally, free food was provided throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere and a sense of togetherness among the community members. Families and players alike enjoyed the holistic approach of the event, which combined athleticism, education, and community care.
The record-breaking turnout at this year's camp was a testament to the growing impact of Hollywood Brown Day, with the foundation already planning to expand next year's camp to accommodate even more participants and families.
The Hollywood Brown Foundation remains dedicated to giving back to the youth of Hollywood, FL, and is excited about the future. For updates on upcoming events and initiatives, visit the official website of the Hollywood Brown Foundation.
