MEET OUR 2025 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
The Hollywood Brown Foundation’s 2025 College Scholarship Recipient has successfully completed an inspiring first year at the University of Florida, where he is majoring in Biology with a minor in Innovation while pursuing his dream of becoming a surgeon. Driven by a passion for medicine and community service, he has already made a meaningful impact through his volunteer work with UF’s Comunidad H.O.P.E team, participating in a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic where he helped provide care to more than 1,400 patients alongside medical professionals and fellow students. His experience at UF has not only strengthened his academic skills, but also helped him grow personally through involvement in leadership programs, medical outreach organizations, faith-based groups, and campus activities that have shaped him into a well-rounded student leader.
Transitioning from high school to a major university came with challenges, including balancing academics, health, friendships, and personal time, but he learned to manage his schedule through discipline, study groups, tutoring, and maintaining a structured routine. He credits the Hollywood Brown Foundation scholarship with giving him the opportunity to fully embrace life-changing experiences without the financial stress of choosing between work and service opportunities. The scholarship directly helped make his Dominican Republic mission trip possible and continues to motivate him to strive for excellence. Looking ahead, he plans to secure a clinical internship at UF Health Shands, maintain a strong GPA, expand his involvement in cultural organizations, and study abroad in Italy before beginning medical school. He encourages future students to stay true to themselves, build genuine connections, and pursue opportunities that align with their passions and purpose.
